Every spring, the Virginia Arts Festival welcomes internationally-acclaimed dancers, musicians, actors and other performance artists in one of the premier cultural events in the mid-Atlantic region.

In May, the oceanfront goes Caribbean during the annual PANorama Caribbean Music Fest, featuring steel bands and “pan” virtuosos, followed by a giant beach party at Beach Music Weekend. 

Redskin fans flock to the beach in May to mingle with players and cheerleaders during the Redskins Beach Blitz, while wine lovers sample vintages from around the world at the Spring International Wine Tasting.  Or, you can just go fly a kite - at the Atlantic Coast Kite Festival.

Remember the Music, Remember the Heroes honors our military heroes during the Memorial Day festival featuring special performances on multiple boardwalk stages.

The pulsating rhythms of salsa and mambo explode from the beach during the Latin Fest in June, with all the flavors, colors and verve of a bustling festival marketplace.  Are you ready to rock and roll?  Then join beachgoers for The King and the Legends of Rock & Roll, also in June.

Get ready for a star-spangled celebration during the Stars and Stripes Explosion on July 4^th.  Bring the family and pick a winner at the Mid-Atlantic Hermit Crab Challenge later in the month.

It’s time for the sound of soul at the Soul Music Beachfest in August, along with the East Coast Surfing Championships, North America’s longest running surfing competition, which attracts more than a hundred of the world’s top professional surfers and several hundred amateurs.

Close out the summer during a Labor Day weekend-long music feast at the Verizon Wireless American Music Festival.  You can also lace up your running shoes that weekend and join 20,000 other runners for the Rock ‘n’ Roll ½ Marathon, which features one of the largest prizes for a ½ marathon in the country.

In October, all hail King Neptune, at the Neptune Festival Boardwalk Weekend, featuring a parade, a world-class sandcastle competition, a noted art show, numerous sports competitions and the spectacular NAS Oceana Air Show Beach Blast.  During fall, Blues at the Beach, Festa Italiana and the Oktober Brewfest are all great reasons to gather at the beach, while Christmas turns magical during the Holiday Lights display and Holiday Parade.
